Before I met Kiana and Danny for our Gold Coast engagement session at Snapper Rocks in Coolangatta, I asked them to complete a little quiz and send me their results. I had a few things planned for them while I was taking these images, and as it turned out, the things I had planned fell directly into the results of their quiz.
As the sun set over the rocks of Coolangatta, I asked Kiana and Danny to traipse across the jagged stony ground, which they did with ease, and wander into the warm Autumn waters. The last time I had seen Sarah and Perry they were well into their third trimester of pregnancy, getting ready to bunker down for the slowness that newborn babies bring.
The slowness hit just as the year tends to ramp up for Christmas. It was a wonderfully calm ambiance when I entered their home for the second time to meet Henry. I got to hang out with Sarah and Perry on a very beautiful Spring afternoon. Melbourne treated us that day, as we took a walk with Molly, their beaglier, along their local dog beach. Pregnancy can be hard on a woman's body, but you wouldn't know it with Sarah, she carried with beauty and so much grace.

Working with families, in their own environment, doing their own thing, is one of the best things I've ever done. It's pretty freakin' special when there are people in that family who have touched my heart.

It was a sunny day in December, I was 14 years old and we had just received a phone call from one of my older brother's telling me that his baby daughter had just been born.
