Kiana & Danny : Gold Coast Engagement
Before I met Kiana and Danny for our Gold Coast engagement session at Snapper Rocks in Coolangatta, I asked them to complete a little quiz and send me their results. I had a few things planned for them while I was taking these images, and as it turned out, the things I had planned fell directly into the results of their quiz.
As the sun set over the rocks of Coolangatta, I asked Kiana and Danny to traipse across the jagged stony ground, which they did with ease, and wander into the warm Autumn waters. As they did, they were filling their love cup with some quality time, loads of touch and sharing some beautiful words. Not that they needed ...

Gold Coast Newborn Photographer – Three Sisters
This is a sweet little in-home family photography session. I love shooting in home newborn sessions. The energy is always calm and quite, even amidst the chaos of two older siblings.
You don't need to have the perfect clean home, or the perfect outfits. These sessions are all about your family navigating the early days with your newest love.
This is a sweet little in home session with a new family of five, with three little girls. Shot when on a mentoring session with Janine at White-salt.

THE LIFE OF THE JARRETTS – Gold Coast Family Photographer
This is the story of a family who know how to have fun, and even with little ones, continue to live life to the fullest.
When you've got little ones, life can get put on hold. We can retreat, which, of course, has it's beauty, but it can also get heavy. When I mentioned to Amanda as our shoot was coming to an end, just how much fun they had together, she replied "I figured you just have to join in with them, otherwise it gets hard". She is so right. Resistance holds us back, presence keeps us alive and going.
Adventuring and enjoying the simple things are what this family are all about. Picnics along the river, sandcastles on the beach ...

HELLO LITTLE HENRY – Byron Bay Newborn Photographer
The last time I had seen Sarah and Perry they were well into their third trimester of pregnancy, getting ready to bunker down for the slowness that newborn babies bring.
The slowness hit just as the year tends to ramp up for Christmas. It was a wonderfully calm ambiance when I entered their home for the second time to meet Henry. After what was deemed a not so great night (newborns have a tendency to do things like that when you have plans the next day), I could tell that this wee family was blanketed in love and well into finding their groove.
This is the story of their first few days with little Henry, along with a little before and aft ...

SARAH + PERRY
Sarah's beautiful smile and gorgeous smiling eyes could light up any room, and she's one of those gorgeous women with whom I had an instant connection.
I got to hang out with Sarah and Perry on a very beautiful Spring afternoon. Melbourne treated us that day, as we took a walk with Molly, their beaglier, along their local dog beach. Pregnancy can be hard on a woman's body, but you wouldn't know it with Sarah, she carried with beauty and so much grace.
Sarah and Pez, I can't wait to meet you little baby boy!

HELLO LITTLE LENNY
I've been sitting on this session for a while, but i can't hide it any longer, as I love it so much.
It was a grey, misty old spring evening when I drove through the Gippsland hills to visit this sweet family in their beautiful rural surroundings.
Lenny, at only a few weeks old, was one of the most handsome wee boys I had ever seen.
I really love documenting these first precious weeks for a family. Being present with them as they find their feet and not only get to know their little one, but also a whole new side of themselves and each other. These stories are so emotional and special, but all too quickly forgotten, and being able to doc ...

SERRIN + DAVE
On a beautiful Summer day in December, on the beautiful South Gippsland beach of Cape Paterson, two best friends were married.
When I first met Dave and Serrin, and even more so after spending their wedding day with them, I felt like I had known Dave and Serrin for years. More than anything, I love the story around a couple. Who they are, how they met, and why they chose where they wanted to be married. Dave and Serrin's story was equally humbling and humorous.
Cape Paterson will always be more than just a special place to Serrin and Dave, a place of memories, love and loss. As a mist rolled in right as the ceremony started and rolled o ...

A MORNING WITH ESSIE & LOLLY
Working with families, in their own environment, doing their own thing, is one of the best things I've ever done. It's pretty freakin' special when there are people in that family who have touched my heart.
I always come away from family sessions thinking, "Man that family was rad!" This family is no exception. I mean, how cool is the nickname Lolly for your little sister. Only a big sister/Little Mama Bear can come up with terms of endearments like these.
I think, as parents, we often get bogged down with "stuff" that we forget just how rad our own families are. I feel lucky to have these little reminders often.
This is the sto ...

JEROME + JUDITH
Jerome and Judith are the most kind hearted and giving souls. They are the kind of people I am lucky to have met. I got to hang out with them one December morning, after Aish Bomb had woken from her morning nap. They walked me around their neighbourhood, stopped to pick up the paper and a coffee, like they would any other typical family morning.
This is their story, one December Morning.

A MORNING WITH CHARLIE
As I walked through the gates the Charlotte Roses that greeted me in the garden, were just beaten in beauty by the Charlotte Rose that lay in her cot inside.
Little Charlie with her beautiful round cheeks and blue eyes, had not long started on solids, but ate them with much enthusiasm when I visited her.
This is the story of Charlie and her Mum and Dad, one Saturday morning in December. We drank cups of tea, they took me for a walk through their neighbourhood, , and then little Charlie was hungry again. Just as she should be.
You can see the family film over here. ...

A MORNING WITH MOLLY
I met Molly when she was just one week old, and she was complete with all of the newborn deliciousness you could possibly think of. The perfect little nose, the little noises she would make, the stretches her limbs would take in the freedom her little body now has, and those long, adoring gazes she unknowingly received from her Mum and Dad. But what gets me every time is the guzzling as she fed from her Mumma. Such precious, precious times.
It's these little moments I focus on capturing when I have my family sessions. These little moments that tell your story of what your life was like at this time. When you have a newborn, things ch ...

MARISA + JONNY
I remember the day very well. It was a sunny day in December, I was 14 years old and we had just received a phone call from one of my older brother's telling me that his baby daughter had just been born. Twenty minutes later, my sister and I arrived at the hospital to see our new niece, Marisa, having basically sprinted over three kilometers to get to the hospital!
It really is a heart warming feeling to be a part of someones life right from their infancy, to watch them grow into the person that they are, and to see them start their own family.
To witness my brother and sister-in-law walk their daughter down the aisle, to marry her so ...
